Although aromatherapy with essential oils is a great standalone treatment, especially for stress, it can also be combined with other treatments, like Reiki.

Let’s get some definitions out of the way first.

Reiki is a form of spiritual practice that is used as a complementary therapy.  It is used to treat physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health problems.  This spiritual practice was created in the early 20th century in Japan by Mikao Usui.  He taught his practitioners a technique that is similar to the laying on of hands.  Herein “healing energy” is channeled through the healers’ palms to bring about healing in either the reiki practitioner himself or in treating others.

Aromatherapy is a form of alternative medicine in which essential oils, which come from plants, are used to improve a person’s mood and health.

An aromatherapy reiki treatment is performed by a reiki master who has experience working with aromatherapy.  Two different systems (aromatherapy and reiki) are combined to help a body heal.  This works quite well because reiki is able to reinforce the effects of aromatherapy.  However, an aromatherapy reiki treatment is predominantly available in the West since most other parts of the world do not use aromatherapy in the same way as Westerners do.

If you’re interested in Reiki, you can receive a Reiki attunement, and learn to do Reiki yourself, giving yourself aromatherapy and Reiki treatments, as well as giving them to others.

Reiki can be a powerful way to get in touch with your spirituality, as well as your healing powers. Combining Reiki with aromatherapy  is a great way to heal.
