Essential carnation oil, in the absolute form, is both rare and expensive. However the rich, sweet floral aroma is said to be both uplifting and motivating.

Occasionally you’ll come across pure carnation essential oil which seems inexpensive. This can be a trap: less scrupulous suppliers will cut the carnation absolute with other oils, and pass it off as being pure oil.

You can check carnation essential oil for purity by placing a drop of it on a piece of paper after which you should notice quick evaporation and there should be no oily mark left, which indicates that the essential oil has not been cut with vegetable oils.

NOTE: Perfumery carnation oil is a synthetic oil, made from chemicals, and you should never use it for a therapeutic purpose.

Essential carnation oil is more affordable as a dilution

If you want to try pure carnation oil for yourself, purchase it as a 10 per cent dilution. This makes it much more affordable.
