Using Essential Oils For Cystic Acne
October 8th, 2007    Subscribe To Our FeedMany essential oils have an anti-viral and anti-infectious effect, and they can be useful for treating cystic acne. “Essential Oils - Nature’s Powerful Anti-Viral Weapons” notes:
Clinical research has shown that essential oils are highly anti-viral and anti- infectious. In 1995, Dr. Jean C. Lapraz discovered that there are two essential oils in which no bacteria or virus could survive. This is a significant breakthrough since there are so many life threatening viruses and drug resistant bacteria. A recent study done at Weber University has proven that four essential oils will kill 100% of the bacteria and virus in any room where they are diffused.
Using pure essential oils for cystic acne can be useful, as long as you’re guided in their use by your dermatologist.
Cystic acne is one of the most painful and embarrassing forms of acne. The pimples are usually painful and dig deep into the skin like boils. They traumatize the skin like wounds and leave permanent scarring.
Essential oil for cystic acne could at first be just burning your favorite calming oils to give you a sense of well being and a time to be at peace. Acne is often aggravated by stress. Being calm and learning how to handle stress can greatly assist your body’s natural self-defense systems.
Many essential oils for cystic acne are good at cleaning out wounds gently and eliminating bacteria.
The three most popular and safe oils are tea tree, lavender and clove oil. The first two smell a lot better than clove oil, but clove oil is an effective pain killer and is also very effective on minor toothaches. Other oils include jasmine, myrrh, sandalwood and ylang ylang.
You can dab them on your wounds with a clean cotton ball or swab, use a drop on any bandages if necessary, or even add three or four drops to a compress to press against any particularly painful area. You can even add a few drops to a bowl or boiling water for a deep clean facial.
Remember that you need to be guided by your medical professional, but essential oils can be a great help when you’re dealing with cystic acne.
