Using essential oils to cope with acne
October 5th, 2007    Subscribe To Our FeedIf you have acne, you can help your skin to normalize by using essential oils.
Oils suitable for use with acne include: lavender, lemon and geranium. You can use lavender oil neat, however you should use the other oils in a carrier oil.
Everyone’s skin is different, so be prepared to experiment until you find the perfect essential oil, or oil blend, which will help you.
Here’s a tip from Nature’s Gift:
My daughter has benefited greatly from the Melissa hydrosol as a toner for hormonally related acne. Now, I wouldn’t have thought of that, but Hope, my assistant swears by Melissa for just making the oil in her skin “disappear”. So, apparently, Melissa Hydrosol becomes one of the hydrosols of choice for the above skin problems.
Nature’s Gift’s essential oil suggestions for dry acne are: petitgrain, lavender, spike lavender, clary, rose geranium.
If you have old acne scars, try sandalwood and petitgrain as an oil blend to soften the scars. Over several months, you should notice a fading of the scars as your skin revitalizes itself.
